The Office of the Blessed Sacrament
Nocturnal Adoration Society
During HIS agony in the garden of Gethsemane, CHRIST asked "could you not spend ONE hour with me?"
You can answer this call by joining the Nocturnal Adoration Society.
Each hour is covered by a band. There are 10 bands and the hours are rotated each month. Starting at 8 PM the Thursday before the first Friday of the month and continuing till 6AM Friday morning the Blessed Sacrament is exposed to unite man's prayer and sacrifice to Christ.
The Nocturnal Adoration Society provides a fervent response to Christ's invitation to keep a prayer vigil with Him. Members deepen the experience of communion with Christ as He continues His self-offering and saving influence. Members strive to live more consciously and actively embrace the full significance of the Eucharist, the Sacrament of charity and unity for the church around the world.
Membership Information: Open to Catholic men and women who are eager to enrich their prayer and Christian life by means of the Eucharist.

Introduction: For well Over a century the Office of the Blessed Sacrament has been the official prayer of the Archconfraternity of Nocturnal Adoration.
The Second Vatican Council laid down the principle that the liturgy is the norm for all prayer. "Popular devotions," it says in its Constitution on the Liturgy, "should be so drawn up that they...accord with the sacred liturgy, are in some fashion derived from it, and lead the people to it, since, in fact the liturgy by its very nature far surpasses them all" (Const. 13)
Our official prayer not only is in accord with the liturgy, not only derives from it and leads to it; the Office of the Blessed Sacrament IS liturgical prayer. The same Constitution states: "The Divine Office is the voice of the Church, that is, the whole mystical body publicly praising God." To which it adds: "The laity are encouraged to recite the Divine Office, either with the priest, or among themselves, or even individually". (Const. 99-100)
The Office of the Blessed Sacrament as contained in the official prayer book, reflects in its basic format the official prayer of the Church as found in The Liturgy of the Hours. However, in order to meet particular needs of our Society, we have made a number of adaptations. In doing this, we avail ourselves of the options permitted in the General Instructions on the Liturgy of the Hours.
Nocturnal Adoration is held the Thursday before the first Friday of every month. Starting from 8 PM and going thru 6 AM the following morning. Nocturnal Adorers sign up for a one hour time frame during this period for praying the office of the Blessed Sacrement
